Policy Structure
Defense Costs Outside Limits
A policy structure where defense costs are paid in addition to the policy's stated limits, preserving the full per-claim and aggregate limits for settlements and judgments. This structure provides significantly more total coverage but is less common in legal malpractice policies and typically commands a higher premium when available.
